Working Through the Great Depression: "Painting a National Portrait"

Excerpts from a lecture by Thomas Thurston at the Queens College Godwin-Ternbach Museum on May 12, 2009. Presented as part of the museum's "Working Through the Great Depression" exhibiton of 1930s-era prints produced under the Works Progress Administration. Thurston compares the works and themes of Depression-era artists with works produced by students from DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx during the same period. Introduced by Dr. Amy Winter, director of the museum.
