WPA 2.0

Unite! Inspire! Record!

I just heard about ShovelWatch< in a half sleep last night on WNYC, and checked it out this morning.

ShovelWatch

All and all it's got way more info than I can digest just this morning, and worth some time getting into over the next few days, but for now the basics are.

ShovelWatch is a joint project of WNYC , (a New York public radio station), ProPublica a New York based non-profit newsroom, and The Takeaway (itself a joint project of WNYC and PRI along with several other news organizations.)

shovelwatch.org is primarily an aggregator of stimulus articles from those organizations, which are quite numerous and interesting. It also collects links to stimulus news stories from other sources. And most interesting is a launching point for WNYC's citizen reporter project to track Tri-state area (NY NJ CT) stimulus projects.

This is awesome -- it seems very very very very in-line with the WPA 2.0 vision.
